HOT WATER MUSIC / CLAIRMEL - SPLIT 8" (prototype handmade cover)
the story behind this one: my band played a show in gainesville and i stopped in to visit var and the staff after buying some stuff directly from var. he allowed me to dig through boxes of records he had set aside in storage, allowing me to have first pick of these records. he didn't know what was in the boxes, and told me to set aside whatever i wanted with the condition that i would label some other things. for the 3rd and 4th press of this record, no idea decided to make hand made covers, and what i have here is the prototype for those records. it's obvious that they just made this to test out how everything would look, spray paint colors, and text style and placement. they obviously didn't think to take the record out when they painted it, because there is silver paint on the record, making it more than likely unplayable.

HOT WATER MUSIC / TOMORROW - SPLIT 11" (green, numbered #0082)
i purchased this record from former hot water music collector davey moore. var told me that the 5th press of this split was stamped with the original lookout records number stamp that a former staff member had acquired. it doesn't actually say anything about this color on the no idea discography. davey told me that it was from the 5th pressing, which seems accurate because of the center labels and the hand stamp, but no one really knew how many of these existed. as you can see, it is very distinguishably different than the 7th press on green.

HOT WATER MUSIC - A FLIGHT AND A CRASH (4th press blue-green-grey)
i only listed this like this because of how different it was from the other copy i had, and colors i had seen from this pressing. you be the judge!

HOT WATER MUSIC - NO DIVISION (2nd press purple)
both of these records came straight from var with little strips of paper in them noting the color, and quantitiy. this one says "purple 5/7"

HOT WATER MUSIC - NO DIVISION (2nd press tan)
this one says "tan 5/5"

HOT WATER MUSIC - EATING THE FILLER (bonus with FINDING LP)
here are all the different variations of the eating the filler bonus 7". the top row is 200 with blank blue labels (11/99) 726 Black (some had silver labels on both sides, some had one side black) (7/00), 800 Black with yellow labels. second row are all the variations from the 1,000 mixed gray (8/07).

THE DRAFT - IN A MILLION PIECES (1st press w/ bonus 7"s)
the top is the grey /99 with the purple 7" (which looks less blue in person).
the bottom is the purple /69 with the darker purple 7".
at one point i had one of each color from the first pressing, all of which came labeled with a little sticker, so the legitimacy of these colors is on point.

THE DRAFT - IN A MILLION PIECES (2nd press pink /3)

THE DRAFT - IN A MILLION PIECES (2nd press light blue /3)

THE DRAFT - IN A MILLION PIECES (2nd press grey poupon /33)
